The book I'm reading is The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. This book is about a lovely couple that lives in a nice neighborhood with their newborn baby. When one night they are invited to a dinner party with the couple next door. Once they go they decide to leave the baby at the house and go and check in on her in between times. Once they get back home they are soon to discover that the baby is gone! Blame is immediately put on the parents but Detective Rasbach knows its something much more. Once investigating they soon to find out that it was the husband but he wasn't the only one with a plan. We soon to find out that another family member is involved with the "kidnapping" of baby Cora. The scene where Anne (the wife) finds out that Marco (the husband) is the one who faked the kidnapping of their baby reminds me of the betrayal that the husband (Tom Krupp) felt when finding out that his wife (Karen Krupp) was doing illegal things and that she wasn't telling ...
