The book that I'm reading is Stranded by Jeff Probst. This story is about these kids parents are getting married and they want to get closer together as a family. The kids names are Vanessa (14), Buzz (11), Carter (11), Jane (9). All the kids go to the dock were the boats are at with there uncle. They wanted to take a little trip on the boat but it didn't turn out the way they wanted to. They got caught in a storm and don't know what to do. Will they make it back safe? Will they be found? Figure out what happens in this adventurous/suspenseful book.
Vanessa reminds me of myself because we are both the same age and and when something is going wrong we try our best to help fix it. Also we both want out opinions to be heard by other people and just wanted to speak out minds. Jane reminds me of my little brother. Even though Jane is a girl and my brother is a boy they both have the same characteristics. They are both very knowledgeable and just very smart for there age. The book connects to the real world because there has been times where people have been stranded in the middle of the ocean.
While I read this book I was trying to figure out what they should do to get help. I would be thinking to myself what I would do if I was in this situation and how I would get out of it. If I was any of these characters I would work together and stay calm and figure out what the best idea is for this specific problem. I really like how the author Jeff Probst made me want to read this book to figure out what happens. I think this setting is important because there gonna have to know where they are at because if they don't they probably will never find a way back home.
