Text to World - Dead End in Norvelt.

The book I'm reading is called Dead End in Norvelt.  The Newsela article I want to relate it to is an article about the Kentucky school shooting .Dead End in Norvelt is a book about a boy named Jack on summer break. When he was playing with his fathers gun it accidentally Instead of being able to do his awesome over the summer plans, he was grounded for life. Although he's grounded he goes on scary, yet mysterious adventures.      I want to use the Kentucky school shooting article because in the article, and the book, guns were fired. Although a school shooting is a lot more serious, in both story's, someone or some people got hurt. In the story, Jack accidentally fires his fathers weapon and gets a bloody nose because of how hard the weapon fired back. In the school Shooting, a lot of people were hurt. School shootings are never something that anyone would like to talk about, and it is necessary to be happy that the suspect was caught.  ...

Text to world-Dax Ward

My book is about a kid named Luke who is an illegal third child. If the government finds out about him then they will kill him. Families are only allowed to have two children because was a food problem. In one of his neighbors house, and finally gets the guts to run over there. They are putting a rally together to try to get rid of the population law and don't want it to happen. This book can relate to something going on now. Today, we have rallies and protesting for people to get what they want. Last year we had the Red for Ed going on because teachers wanted to be payed more. In the end the teachers and schools got what they wanted. Sometimes people don't always get what they want. I wish the author would give more detail about the rally. The author doesn't give enough detail about a lot of things. It would really make the story better and flow better. It doesn't make the book bad, it just makes it so I have more questions. It just isn't as entertaining, but i...

text to world, A Crooked Kind of Perfect

The book I am reading is A Crooked Kind of Perfect by Linda Urban. In my recent reading of the book Zoe, the main character, has expressed her love for the piano. Her parents would like to support her and buy a piano. Her dad got attracted buy shiny lights and loud music and instead of buying her a grand piano he bought her a cheap organ. She is very frustrated but is trying to make the most of it and has a very big competition  coming up. Her parents and her teacher think she will do amazing. The problem that Zoe did not get her grand piano and instead got a beat up organ is much like one of my favorite soccer stories in history. When Alex Morgan first started playing soccer she wanted a very nice pair of Nike cleats that she had been looking for a very long time. Instead she got a pair of Walmart cleats from her dad. She was very mad but she is still to this day one of the biggest legends in soccer. I love the way that even though Zoe did not get her grand piano she still em...

Text to World- Until Friday Night

I read the book Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines which is about a girl named Maggie and a boy named West who fell in love with each other. The two had so much going that they forgot how it was to be loved and how it was to be loved. They've been through so much together with West dad dying and them falling in love with each other. In the book the Maggie and West fell in love with each other and both of them battling their feelings for each other to make sure Brady doesn't get mad because West is his best friend. This happens to a ton people now and people now actually try and hid a lot more things from there families. This happens to a lot of people trying to keep such big secrets from there families so the families don't get mad. I love how the author played out the story line. The story line was great and i liked how everything played in the end and you can really image what happens. West and Maggie were really cute and they really made the book sound more alive. ...

It is suggested that both Keefe and Fitz are in love with Sophie and Sophie cannot choose between them. The only problem is that in the Lost Cities, relationships are difficul...

Text to World - I Have A Bad Feeling About This

My book is  I Have A Bad Feeling About This by Jeff Strand. This book is about a teenager named Henry who would rather played video games than spend some time in the great outdoors. Soon enough his dad shipped him off to a survival camp with his best friend Randy. When he arrives he finds that the "camp director" is a psycho drill sergeant. Around the World in 80 Days - Tyler Hoyler

Around the World in 80 day is by the well known author Jules Verne. The story is about a rich English man named Phileas Fogg who makes a bet that he can go around the world in 80 days. His servant goes with him through the world. It is full of a bunch of adventures that lead you on an interesting story. When he bet 20,000 dollars on the trip the police thought that he was a bank robber. So a detective fix went around the world making sure they don't let him get away. The more things that happen the more better the book gets her. Around the World in 80 days is similar to when any explorer who have explore the world. The main character knows that he can do it because of the rapid technology advancements. He was the first man in the world to do it. And the way he did it was so new he went form train to boat and even road an elephant. Any way to get around the world in any days, just like any other explorer in the world. While reading the book I found it interesting that detective f...

Text to world- Stranded

The book that I'm reading is  Stranded  by Jeff Probst. This story is about these kids parents that are getting married and they want to get closer together as a family. The kids names are Vanessa , Buzz , Carter  Jane.  All the kids went to the dock were the boats are at with there uncle. Figure out what happens in this adventurous/suspenseful book. You can relate Stranded to the real world in many different ways. One way is that people have gotten stranded in the ocean. The book stranded reminds me of a boy that gotten lost at sea.  There was two teens from Florida that got stranded in the middle of the sea. The boy went way to far out past the distance and he ended up getting stuck in the ocean. But in the book stranded they got stuck because there was a storm that ...

"if your reading this its too late"

"If you're reading this it's too late" is by pseudonymous bosch , is about a fight between max-ernst and ms.mauvais the two main characters . The book starts off with the narrator talking about a secret being let out and could cause danger to the reader and the person in the story , making the plot thicken and making the reader wonder "what's the secret" . in the book so far whats happens is , one of the main characters named max is in a very lucid dream that she wakes up from , feeling like she's being haunted by the thought of the evil ms.mauvais . The problem in this story is similar to an event that happened in history. Like the watergate scandal , in the watergate scandal richard nixon had a big secret going on. He was try to make sure it didn't get out just like in the beginning of my book big there's an ancient dangerous secret going on and if it was let out it would cause chaos . In both of the incidents there's a lot of chaos but...

Text to World - Elevation

The book I have been reading since my last post is  Elevation  by  Stephen King . Since my last reading a lot has happened. Scott Carey still has his disease and rapid weight loss and his friend Bob still can't find a name for this disease. As the days pass Scott is gradually losing more weight each day. Scott, after the race against Deidre, has now become friends with his neighbors and do all manner of things together. Although Scott is still losing weight he is just living out his life to the best of his ability before he dies. In the final pages of the book life becomes extremely difficult. He becomes so light he can't stay on the ground. He always floats around and can't control it. This makes simple tasks like cooking and even sleeping hard. At the end he gathers his friends Bob, Missy, and Deidre and reveals to his new friends (Deidre and Missy) his disease. After this he has Deirdre come to his house the next night and asks her to send him off into the sky. Deidre ...

Text to World- UMBC upset

I am connecting Old School Grit to the March Madness upset ( UMBC ). This book is about a coach named Flanagan in his 43rd season as a basketball coach at St. Rita's. Coach Flanagan is in his last season because he was diagnosed with cancer. His team is qualified for the national basketball tournament and goes very far as an underdog. On the other hand, the March Madness UMBC upsets was about a 16th seed playing the #1 seed. UMBC hit all of there shots and made it pasts Virginia the #1 seed and went down as one greatest history sports upset ever. This scene reminded of a similar scene in Old School Grit because in Old School Grit the St. Ritas team is an underdog and is upsetting all these team and making it to the final four. But with the UMBC story this team is projected to get disqualified in the first round. They are predicted this because of they are going in as the lowest seed playing the highest seed. But this team had a great game like playing great defense getting rebound...

Text to World - Divergent

The book that I've been reading so far “ Divergent ” by, Veronica Roth . It’s about this girl name Tris, who gets sorted into the Dauntless Faction of the world. But, in reality she is so much more she is a Divergent. The most dangerous faction in the society that they live in. Which in the end could possible could get her killed.     Divergent can relate to the real world in many different way. One example being that people are divided. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that people separate from each other. But, it’s only human that we do. In the book Divergent, anyone at the age of 16 are sorted into five different factions and initiated into them. I can relate that part in to the real world because, it happens in schools all over. Students have always broke apart from each other and separated into their own little groups.  Moving on from the separation, Divergent can relate to the real world because, of the factions. For example, the faction that...

Eleanor and Park , by Rainbow Rowell is a story about this boy named Park who is on the bus and then this new girl named Eleanor comes on and she needs a spot to sit. All the seats on the bus are either taken or no one wants to share their seat with her. At first, Park was not going to share his seat but the bus driver yelled at Eleanor and he knew he had to share it so he did, this is what began the start of getting to know each other. On the bus Park would read comics and Eleanor would read them too without him knowing. The novel is about two teens trying to get through their own struggles while also figuring out the matter of love. In the story, Eleanor has a step-father named Richie. Text to World

My book that I have read is Michaela DePrince Taking Flight  by Michaela DePrince herself. This is a true story about a little girl who grew up to be a courageous strong ballerina. She has gone through some tough times, while persuading her dreams. She has gotten discriminated, judged and bullied many times as a child. She has also lost both of her parents. Now she is nice and healthy in America with her foster parents, and her sisters. Michaela DePrince reminded me of Michelle Obama. She reminds me of her because she is a strong, brave, courageous women that has been through touch times but she has always made the impossible possible.  There has been many situations on colored people being discriminated, and bullied because of their color skin back in the day. In this story Michaela didn't realize what it was at the time, because she was still a kid. Back in the day people used to be depressed, and scared to go out anywhere because of all of the commotion that was going on...

Text to World - Ellie's Story

The book I am reading is Ellie 's Story by W. Bruce Cameron . Since Ellie was a puppy she has been trained as a search-and-rescue dog. Her purpose is to find people and save them. Throughout the book, Ellie learns more about her task in life. She comes across many distractions when working, but manages to focus on what she ' s supposed to do. Ellie sometimes gets confused about the changes and what people want from her, so that is why they continue to train. In this book, there is a scene about the El Salvadoran earthquake that struck on January 13, 2001. Many people were dead and trapped, and even more were injured. The problem in this story is similar to an event that happened in history. An earthquake on January 13, 2001 struck El Salvador, killing hundreds of people. Thousands were injured and some trapped. In the book, Maya and Ellie are in El Salvador trying to find people and save them from inside fallen buildings. This problem relates to the world event because dogs ...

Where She Fell-Text to World

I have been reading  Where She Fell  but Kaitlin War and yes it is an amazing book with a lot of detail added into it. But I have noticed that there is a lot of connections between this book and world events like a   sinkhole . There are many connections that can be made with Where She Fell and sinkholes that have happened in the past such as the huge one in Florida. Although these have similarities they are too somewhat different topics and have their own uniqueness but have similar topics.       One connection I have with Where She fell and the Florida sinkhole is each have a sinkhole where stuff falls in such as Eliza fell in and houses fell in. Another connection is no one got hurt from the sinkhole in both real world and book. Also in both real world and book they have a river under ground that they found. There are also rock formations around the Florida sinkhole and in the book there were rock formations everywhere arou...

Text to World: 100 Cupboards book 1-3

(Summary of book 1-3… totally 5-6 sentences.) The 100 Cupboards is a series about a boy named Henry, who has discovered 99 cupboards behind his bedroom wall. The series starts off with him releasing the evil witch Niamine, who thirsts for blood and the life of others. As book 1 moves on Henry discovers he is from a completely different world and that his parents are not actually his parents. He, in fact, comes from the cupboards himself. In the end of the book, Henry is told to stay away from the cupboards from his uncle (whom he is currently living with). Book 2 begins with Henry receiving letters from the Faren, who seem to have control of the land. Henry then finds out that one of his cousins has stolen a key that he needed to travel the cupboards with, and he must get it back. He soon finds out she has buried the key in the field behind the barn. While she digs up the key, Henry stares into a dandelion, and sees flame. He reaches out and touches it, and gains the magical power of...

text to text million dollar throw

The book i am reading is Million dollar throw by Mike Lupica. This book is about a kid named Nate Brodie that plays football. He explains that how when he drops back and is able to see the whole field and explains all the details that he see's.He talks about his receive that he throws to that is very fast and how he can throw the ball anywhere and be able to run under the ball. Nate and Micheal from heat are similar because they both have a really good arm.Nate reminds me of Percy jackson because there are both really good leads of there team.Another great example is Finding he winning edge. I wounder why they start the book in like a action seen.I love the way the made it like a action seen at the beginning.I feel like the football seen is important because if you didn't look at the cover of the book then you can predict that this book is about football and more of a quarterback

text to text if your reading this its too late

“If you're reading this it's too late “ Pseudonymous Bosch. It is about a girl and a boy who are apart of a organization called the “tories society”. The book starts off with them in school talking about their next meeting or mission . Then they go on a field trip to some lake and end up meeting their leader who they've never seen before . They both end up  getting on a boat with this man and start a new mission. Cass at times remind me of Sherlock Holmes because Cass is very observant and she doesn't miss a clue. She also reminds me of Sherlock Holmes because she has to put together clues in order to crack the code she found in her lunch One scene in the book when she is still trying to observe the people around her trying to figure out if someone was in disguise and someone was watching her .
